Queen City

Font and crown insignia were designed and hand-drawn by me on paper, then vectorized using Adobe Illustrator.

“Queen City is a nickname for Charlotte, NC. Residents and businesses often use the term due to the city being named after Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg (the wife of the founding British king in 1768). The county the city resides in is also named Mecklenburg County, after the same queen. I go to college in Charlotte, and ‘Queen City’ is what my friends and I call the city itself sometimes. This geofilter was inspired by the nickname”

Liv Luv Lu

Fonts sourced from DaFont and vectorized using Adobe Illustrator.

“California Lutheran University is the college my best friend goes to, where I visit a lot. ‘Liv Luv Lu’ is a slogan her and her friend group coined that all of their campus colloquially uses for the university. It encompasses the spirit and pride the school has. Purple and yellow are used because they are the school’s colors, with the palm tree font being a homage to the palm trees that clutter the campus.”

Green UNCC

Designed and digitally hand-drawn by me using iPad app.

“I go to college at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. ‘UNCC’ is what we call the school as shorthand. Green is our school’s main color. I thought a transparent, hand-drawn font that goes in and out would look cool. It’s light in some areas and darker in other areas”
